How Can I Make It Better?

I deal with puzzles and problems every day.
The question that I always ask is “How Can I Make It Better?”
This makes me evaluate and use my experience to improve things.
When I attack the next problem I have more options because of all the I have gone thru.
Ask yourself
How Can I Make It Better?

I Don’t Like Flat

I hope I’m alone here…

I’m not liking this “flat design” trend. Even though it might speed load times up.
I’ll wait the extra few milliseconds to be dazzled by better design.

iPod Minimal Controls Are Confusing

Got an iPod Shuffle (gen4) in the mail yesterday for taking a survey or something.

Put music and podcasts on it. But went out on a bike ride and could only hear music. How do I get to the podcasts?

There’s two buttons on the side. One for Voice Over, one for power on/off, play all and shuffle (3 positions).

On the front we have play/pause, volume up, volume down, track forward/fast forward and track back/back fast.

Which button would you hit to switch playlists?

I tried them all.

It was not until I came back to my computer and pulled up the manual that I learned how to do it.

Press the VoiceOver button, then track back/ trackforward to switch between the playlists.

That wasn’t very intuitive!!

I think Apple minimized the controls on this thing too much!

The Secret to Getting Invitation Timing Right

Our friends at Poly Graphics Invitations created a new tool for you to use – that will cost you nothing and give you confidence in planning your parties.

It will help you answer the question “when should I send my invitations?”

It’s called, appropriately WhenShouldISendMeInvitations.com

Just plug your celebration date in, select the type of party it is, and the tool gives you two dates back –
1) When you should order your invitations
2) When you should send your invitations

It’s simple, easy, and won’t cost you anything.
