Software = Wizardry
Software development is wizardry and witchcraft.
You cast spells to arrange bits and pixels to do what you want.

I deal with puzzles and problems every day.
The question that I always ask is “How Can I Make It Better?”
This makes me evaluate and use my experience to improve things.
When I attack the next problem I have more options because of all the I have gone thru.
Ask yourself
When I search for something I want to buy online I start getting ads with variations of what I was searching for. If I already bought it the ads are useless.
How about adding a ‘I bought that’ or I’m not interested anymore’ button to each re-targeting ad so that I don’t see it anymore?
The problem with software development is that everyone wants to create their own world with their own language. In order for someone to learn that software is that they have to take a world culture class, then attempt to live there with minimal knowledge.
New software should come with a glossary of terms so that new users can begin to create a bridge between their world and the software world.
I hope I’m alone here…
I’m not liking this “flat design” trend. Even though it might speed load times up.
I’ll wait the extra few milliseconds to be dazzled by better design.
I know that Oracle is trying to make some $ from their free Java updates,
but I don’t want the Yahoo Toolbar. I never want the Yahoo Tool Bar.
So, I always have to uncheck “Install Yahoo Toolbar” when I update Java.
Pain.
Watch your software update screens carefully.
McAfee gets added on some software updates.
